Job summary

A local government authority in Wales is seeking a motivated Highways Inspector to oversee maintenance and safety of highways. The ideal candidate will have experience in highways maintenance and be skilled in scheduling and repairs. Duties include responding to service requests, preparing work programmes, and supervising highway works, ensuring compliance with established standards. Qualifications

• Broad experience of highways maintenance.
• Knowledge of scheduling and programming highway works.
• Ability to determine appropriate repair solutions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reports, complaints and service requests.
• Prepare daily, weekly and annual work programmes.
• Investigate and respond to 3rd party claims.
• Take part in the Out of hours standby Rota supervising winter maintenance gritting and emergencies.
• Supervise Highway works.
• Undertake programmed and reactive highway inspections and surveys.
