Job description
Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our MDT neonatal team at Whipps Cross hospital alongside a growing workforce. They will be a passionate infant and dysphagia SLT who is keen to work towards integrated ways of working, developmental care and Baby Friendly frameworks. They will receive ongoing mentoring, management and support from the Clinical Lead Neonatal SLT based at the Royal London Hospital and the rest of the neonatal MDT on site. Responsibilities
  • Work as an autonomous Neonatal Speech and Language Therapist with advanced neonatal infant feeding/communication, developmental care and neonatal dysphagia skills.
  • Provide Universal, Targeted and Specialist care to infants on the neonatal unit at Whipps Cross in collaboration with the MDT.
  • Embed on the neonatal unit, working collaboratively with the family and the neonatal MDT team (medical, nursing, Dietitian, OT, Physio, infant feeding leads) to ensure best care.
  • Contribute to Baby Friendly Initiative and Family Integrated Care as part of the core Neonatal MDT.
  • Receive peer support within the neonatal team and neonatal network, with clinical supervision from the Clinical Neonatal Lead for SLT, and peer support from other Neonatal SLTs at Barts.
  • Have independent oversight of the neonatal caseload with support and second opinions from the neonatal Clinical Lead and other specialist MDT members (OT, PT, Respiratory, ENT).
