Overview

My Automotive client are looking fort an HGV Technician on a permanent basis.

Schedule & Compensation
  • Day shift — 40 hours from 08:00 to 16:30 with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break
  • Wage: Starting from £37,500 with OTE £45,000+
  • Uncapped overtime paid at time and a half
  • Late shift — 40 hours from 16:00 to 00:00
  • Wage: Starting from £37,500 plus late shift allowance, OTE £52,800
  • Uncapped overtime paid at time and a half
Role & Responsibilities
  • They are looking for a qualified HGV Technician to join their brilliant team at their automotive dealership in Reading. As an HGV Technician, your role will be to keep their customers' vehicles on the road, via quality, safe and compliant maintenance. The right candidate will be able to deliver an exceptional service and to the highest quality.
  • Performing major and minor repairs to Mercedes-Benz trucks.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
  • Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
  • Complete customer documentation while working to agreed time scales.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Qualification: You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance, plus, will have experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs.
  • Ability to identify worn & faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards.
  • Current, full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle classes.
