Position: HGV Mechanic

Location: Leicester

Salary: £46-50k

Job Overview

Our client are a leading Waste Management firm that have UK and European wide coverage. Due to expansion they are actively looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their team. You will be working within a small team of HGV technicians. You'll work on a modern and diverse fleet of RORO, Artic & Rigid HGV's and Trailers.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, Pre-MOT inspections and unscheduled repairs to a high standard.
  • MOT Presentation.
  • Fault diagnosis.
  • Welding and fabricating.
  • Attend internal and external training.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Relevant engineering qualification (preferably within the motor transport sector).
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify faults.
  • Basic hydraulic knowledge.
  • Good health and safety awareness.
  • Must be able to work under their own initiative with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the customer (internal).
Package & Benefits
  • Salary £46,000 - £50,000.
  • Overtime rates 1.5 times over standard hours and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
