HGV Highways Operative - Honiton

Our clients are looking for a Highways Operative to join their hardworking dedicated team in Honiton.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team undertaking highways repairs, ranging from patching, resurfacing, potholes, drainage, footways and general highway maintenance.
• Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
• Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day‑to‑day tasks set.
• Take responsibility for vehicles, plant and materials in your charge.
• Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.

Essential Skills

• Clean driving licence.
• A commitment to health and safety.
• Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
• CSCS card.

Desirable Skills

• Highways experience.
• HGV licence.
• New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA).
• Operative accreditation Lantra 12d.
• Winter works.

Rate of Pay

• £13.00–£13.50 per hour depending upon experience.
• PAYE positions with accrued holiday pay from day one.
• Pension contributions after a qualifying period.
• Weekly pay.
• No umbrella payments or fees.
• Only tax and national insurance deductions will appear on your payslip.
