Job summary

A leading logistics company is seeking a Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician in Glasgow to ensure the safety and reliability of its fleet. Responsibilities include performing service and maintenance in line with schedules, completing legal defect reports, and preparing vehicles for MOT testing. The ideal candidate will have a valid driving license, relevant vocational training, and experience in vehicle repairs and troubleshooting. This full-time role offers competitive hourly pay with additional premiums for night shifts.

Qualifications

  • Fully skilled with applicable Licenses / Vocational Training.
  • City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting.
  • Experience in welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety and reliability of FedEx assets.
  • Completion of service and inspection records.
  • Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing.
  • Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs.
  • Ensure safe use of tools and equipment.

Skills

Fully skilled with applicable Licenses / Vocational Training
Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing
Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components
Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting

Education

City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs
Valid driving license
