An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic team within the Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy service in Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The role would be:

The Health Care Assistant (HCA) should assist with creating a welcoming, caring and safe environment. The post holder will be required to work both within the clerical and clinical environment supporting service provision.
To provide support and direct assistance to medical and nursing staff within all aspects of the Womens Health units by undertaking nursing care and treatment as appropriate and as planned for clients.
This role may require you to work across all sites within Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency team fostering good communication and working relations with colleagues from all disciplines often dealing with sensitive and emotive problems ensuring signposting to correct medical professional/clinic for ongoing management.
Be proficient in a range of clinical duties which require a basic level of knowledge e.g. recording and documenting client observations, ensuring accurate measurements and recording of blood pressure, weight, height, Body Mass Index, pregnancy testing, venepuncture, urine testing etc. reporting to qualified staff as necessary.
Act as a chaperone and assist the Doctor / Nurse during clinical examinations / procedures, as appropriate and as requested, as necessary, ensuring correct labelling of all samples.
Ensure the availability of patient notes at all clinics (base and satellite) ensuring tracer system is maintained and update.
Be experienced in basic IT skills including Word Processing and undertake any relevant training, ensuring all ongoing training needs are met.
Input data onto Patient Information systems.
Will ensure that all positive results from investigations are directed to the appropriate senior member of staff for action.
Ensure that pathology/scan results is presented to medical/nursing staff for appropriate action and once action completed filed appropriately in the correct patient notes.
Ensure that patient confidentiality is always maintained.
