Beech ward is a 12 bedded ward who are seeking Healthcare Assistant, who are motivated to make a real difference with a caring and compassionate attitude, have excellent team-working skills, communication, and assessment skills.
Beech ward provides rehabilitation and end of life care within our thriving community hospital. We are looking to recruit Band 3 Healthcare Assistants who have a keen interest in rehabilitation/Frailty and End of Life Care. We are a forward thinking supportive multidisciplinary team. It is a very exciting time on Beech ward with the development of many services, at Dorset HealthCare we offer plenty of opportunities to develop your caring skills and provide development opportunities.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Provide a high-quality person-centred approach to care delivery within your sphere of practice always considering patients privacy, dignity and safety.
To deliver planned care to a group of patients working alongside the multi-disciplinary team and in accordance with Trust policies and protocols.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support/guidance to less experienced staff/learners within the clinical environment as needed.
Manage a defined group of patients/service users under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence based/client centred principles to undertake a range of delegated tasks independently.
Contribute to the ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of patient/service user care, and escalate to senior registered practitioner as appropriate.
Promote health and prevent ill health in service users, contributing to integrated care.
To plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols, within the limitations of the Healthcare Assistant role.
Undertake delegated clinical skills within their scope of practice having once undertaken relevant training, deemed competent and adhere to local and national guidance.
