A local healthcare provider in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a part-time healthcare assistant to join their team. This role involves clinical and administrative responsibilities, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with minor operations, and providing patient education. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and previous experience working in a GP practice. This position offers an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to patient care and wellbeing.
Mount Farm Surgery is looking for a healthcare assistant (HCA) to join the practice in this vital patient-facing role with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The role is offered on a part-time basis, for 25.5 hours per week working on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The role will offer you the opportunity to build on your experience, skills and competence, requiring you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
The healthcare assistant role within general practice can be very different to the role within other settings and as such we are ideally looking for applications from those with previous primary care experience. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.
Mount Farm Surgery is a modern, efficient, and well-equipped GP surgery in the Moreton Hall area of Bury St. Edmunds.
First established in Looms Lane in Bury St. Edmunds, we moved to the Moreton Hall Estate approximately thirty years ago, which was built on the original Moreton Hall farmland at the top of Mount Road (hence the name Mount Farm).

Often health issues are related to other aspects of a patients lifestyle, and we believe in helping patients improve their overall health and well-being, wherever possible taking the opportunity to prevent illness and not just treat it. We routinely check up on patients with long-term conditions to ensure we are providing effective care. We also run a series of clinics and patient workshops that provide valuable help and support to those dealing with long-term conditions such as asthma and diabetes.
A GP training practice
Some of our GPs have the additional skills, experience, and qualifications to support qualified registrars through their vocational training to become a GP.
