Health & Safety Manager

Ellesmere Port

GBP40,000 – GBP50,000 (flexible depending on experience)

Monday – Friday, 8am–5pm

A market–leading manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join its team in Ellesmere Port. This is a key role, responsible for driving a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility across the site. Working closely with the General Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal part in ensuring compliance, improving efficiency, and embedding sustainable practices throughout manufacturing operations.

The Candidate

• NEBOSH General Certificate with practical experience in improving safety within a manufacturing environment.
• A background or experience within heavy industry, quarries or similar with a solid understanding of machinery is highly desirable
• A Health & Safety background within a manufacturing environment
• Proven track record of building and embedding a positive safety culture in an industrial setting.
• Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance.
• Familiarity with audit processes and safety management systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with regulatory bodies, management, and teams across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Promote and develop a strong safety culture across the Ellesmere Port site.
• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve health and safety practices in all manufacturing units.
• Deliver regular training sessions to employees, ensuring safe working practices are embedded at every level.
• Develop and implement safety protocols, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Lead incident investigations and identify preventive measures to reduce risk.
• Support environmental compliance and contribute to sustainability and ESG initiatives.
