Job Overview

Our client is a leading provider of health and safety consultancy services in asbestos, water treatment and legionella across the UK. We are looking for an experienced and hardworking Health & Safety Consultant based in and around Derby. The ideal candidate will have a technical occupational hygiene/water hygiene/asbestos background, hold the NEBOSH or equivalent certification, and be fully conversant with health and safety guidelines. Candidates from Nottingham, Burton upon Trent, Chesterfield, Loughborough and surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong technical, consultancy, management or auditing background in asbestos, legionella or related fields.
• Relevant NEBOSH–CMIOHS certificates – health and safety qualifications are essential.
• Practical experience in asbestos, legionella, or fire related work.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organise own workload and deliver presentations.
• Full knowledge of health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (including database functions).
• Willingness to travel extensively – flexible attitude required.

Main Responsibilities

• Attend sites to conduct inspections of health and safety performance.
• Carry out health and safety risk assessments and address any arising issues.
• Perform health and safety, staff and compliance audits.
• Provide technical support to clients.
• Produce comprehensive audit, health and safety and environmental reports.
• Deliver safety training courses.
