About the role

A key Health & Safety position working in a fast-paced environment. This will be an office based role within a well‑established and expanding commercial construction company who are constantly striving to raise the profile of Health and Safety. Responsibilities as a Health & Safety Advisor will include:

  • Support the QHSE Lead, and Company Director in ensuring Health & Safety and Environmental processes and procedures are followed on a day‑to‑day basis and supporting and coaching colleagues on site
  • Support the completion of RAMS
  • Support production and development of safe systems of work
  • Assist office‑based staff and support the site‑based Contracts Managers and Contract Supervisors
  • Prepare CDM documentation, such as a Construction Phase Plan to be issued to the client and used by the onsite teams
  • Ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with the company’s policy
  • Liaise with CDM holders to support any Construction projects where needed
  • Implement company Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policy and embed ISO requirements
  • Support internal Health & Safety to ensure legal compliance
  • Onboard and conduct compliance checks of subcontractors
  • Work with the operational team to continually improve the safety of the working environment, identify risk and control measures
  • Submit SSIP / PAS 91 Health and Safety accreditations
  • Drive and develop the QHSE department
  • Assist with PQQ submission
About you

With previous experience working in Health & Safety within Construction, you will hold a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum Health & Safety qualification, as well as CDM experience and Asbestos awareness. You will be self‑motivated and solution‑focused with a real passion for Health & Safety and a desire to grow and develop within the role. You will have the ability to engage and influence others to promote a positive Health & Safety message.
