Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Administrator to join the growing Health and Safety team on a fixed term basis til 31st December 2025 with the potential of extending the employment after this date.

We are seeking an enthusiastic team worker who can work independently and as part of a team. You will be friendly proactive and the successful candidate will possess excellent planning, organisation and communication skills.

The role holder will work together with colleagues to provide administrative support and ensure day-to-day operational needs are met.

As an Administrator you will :
  • Support the Health and Safety Advisors with administrative tasks
  • Receive and respond to internal and external queries providing advice and resolving both simple and complex issue queries
  • Support the coordination of the Health and Safety training programme including booking of rooms, ordering catering and scheduling on the internal short courses website
  • Monitor budgets and raise purchase orders for the team.
  • Maintain databases
  • Support events and projects
You will bring :
  • Extensive level of IT skills including MS Office suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and Teams)
  • Ability to build working relationships within the department, contacts around the University and external suppliers
  • Ability to work independently to resolve complex internal and external queries.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of customer service whilst working to deadlines.
  • Accuracy, reliability and a willingness and adaptability to learn new skills and procedures.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract until 31st December 2025 on a full time (36.25 hours per week) basis with a potential to extend after this date. The role is offered with a hybrid approach with a minimum of three days in the office subject to operational needs.
