Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Glasgow is seeking a compassionate Healthcare Support Worker. You will provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and support a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication abilities and a caring nature. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is: Monday - Sunday, day and night shift rotation, 11.5hr shifts.

The Healthcare Support Worker carries out direct patient care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse. Applicants must have a caring disposition and the ability to work with others as part of a multidisciplinary team. Good verbal and written communication skills and literacy and numeracy skills are essential. Applicants must have the ability to fulfil the requirements of the Band 3 job description including undertaking practice development programmes.
