Health Care Support Worker (37 hrs)
We currently have a vacancy in our Nursing Department for a Health Care Support Worker to join our busy team.
The candidates must ideally be competent phlebotomists however, training can be provided. Experience in Health Care essential. Surgical experience is desirable.

Responsibilities
- BP Monitoring
- New patient health checks / CVD screening
- ECG recording
- Phlebotomy
- Urinalysis
- Chaperoning duties
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
- Maintenance of surgical equipment and assisting with minor & theatre surgical procedures
- Correctly labelling all specimens and ensuring their safe dispatch
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
- Organisation of stock levels and ordering
- Assisting the surgeons with minor operations and theatre surgical procedures
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
- Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
- Providing care to housebound patients in their home/ care home
- Form and maintain good working relationships with all members of the Primary Health Care Team colleagues and members of attached staff
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
Desirable
- Qualified in Phlebotomy (preferably but we can provide training)

Dr Akram is the Practice representative with the CCG. The partnership at present comprises of eight Partners. We also employ five salaried doctors. The GP lead for the salaried GPs is Dr Chaudhry.
