Job description
Health Care Assistant – Community

As a Health Care Assistant you will support the Mid Bedfordshire Community Nursing team in delivering client‑centred, high quality care to a caseload of people in their homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver compassionate, person‑centred care in accordance with care plans devised by community nursing staff.
  • Complete accurate daily handover reports and feedback to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist with mobilisation, change, personal care and support with therapeutic activities.
  • Escalate risks and implement safety procedures.
  • Support colleagues and cover shifts as required across the integrated community service.
Expectations

Work in shifts between 08:00 and 21:00, including weekend, evening and bank holiday working. Part‑time posts are considered. Independent driving licence and access to a car are essential.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience in community or home‑care setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • IT literate and digitally confident.
  • Relevant training or certification in health care or personal support is an advantage.
