We currently have a vacancy for a Health and Social Care Coordinator within Newcastle City Council’s Care Services teams, based at Welford Centre.

This post involves providing supervision and shift coordination within our care and support service. We are looking for applicants with a flexible approach who are committed to making a real difference to people’s lives.

Our staff work closely with health colleagues and must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting independence, health, wellbeing and choice to those who use our services. Maintaining the dignity of the people who access the service must be a priority at all times and successful applicants must be able to deliver care and support with great sensitivity.

We are looking to appoint a person who is enthusiastic, motivated and committed to working in a challenging yet rewarding environment. This post involves working with adults who have profound multiple learning disabilities with additional complex health needs and adults whose behaviour may challenge.

You will be expected to assist in all aspects of daily living including personal care, assistance with meals, and have some experience in working with people whose behaviour may be seen as challenging.
