We’re looking for Head Receptionist to provide great service in a fast-paced work environment.

We are an award winning, family run surgery situated in South Devon. We have an excellent team of 5 vets, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Veterinary Care assistant and a Practice Manager.

What your typical day will look like:

• As Head Receptionist, you will oversee the reception team, ensuring daily tasks are completed in a timely manner, whilst managing your own admin duties and making sure that a great level of customer service is maintained and delivered to all clients.
• Your focus is to provide an exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets - providing a link between clients and the clinical team.
• Your ability to build strong relationships with our clients, their pets and the practice team will be critical to your success.
• You will strive to continually look for ways to improve the client journey by re‑assessing protocols and obtaining feedback from clients, while actively promoting our online presence.
• You will greet each client and offer support, guidance, and expertise, managing payments and future bookings confidently.
• Coordinating the smooth running of the day‑to‑day routines of the practice, so computer literacy is a must.
• Managing your team’s rota, holiday requests and short‑term cover.
• Conducting appraisals and discussing performance as the Line Manager for your team.

This is a part time vacancy, working 30 hours per week with a share of weekend work.

Previous receptionist experience in a veterinary practice would be preferred, but not essential. Previous admin experience is a must. We can offer a wage of £14.50‑£15.50 per hour DOE.
