ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Spa Manager at W Edinburgh the Head Spa Therapist plays a vital role in ensuring every guest experiences the signature AWAY Spa blend of relaxation and rejuvenation.

You will support the overall spa operation leading by example motivating the team and ensuring that both guests and therapists feel supported and inspired. When the Spa Manager is not present you’ll confidently oversee the daily running of the spa maintaining the highest standards of professionalism service and brand delivery.

As Head Spa Therapist your key responsibilities will include :

• Delivering a full range of five-star spa treatments to the highest standard ensuring every guest leaves feeling revitalised and cared for.
• Supporting the Spa Manager in the daily operation of the spa including scheduling opening and closing procedures and general administration.
• Acting as the senior point of contact and overseeing the spa team in the Managers absence to ensure smooth efficient operations.
• Assisting with training coaching and mentoring Spa Therapists to enhance performance product knowledge and service consistency.
• Monitoring treatment standards cleanliness and presentation across all spa areas.
• Managing stock levels reporting maintenance issues and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Supporting the achievement of commercial targets through retail sales service excellence and repeat business.
• Providing exceptional guest care handling queries and feedback with confidence and professionalism.
• Staying up to date with the latest wellness trends techniques and brand developments to keep the AWAY Spa offering fresh and inspiring.

Our ideal Head Spa Therapist is someone who has :

• Previous experience as a Senior or Head Therapist in a luxury spa or five-star hotel.
• Strong operational understanding and confidence to manage the spa in the absence of the Spa Manager.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills with a supportive hands‑on approach.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
