Job description

The client is seeking a technically focused Interior Designer / Architect to join their London-based team. The business owns and operates a portfolio of high-end private members’ clubs globally and is in the process of building out an internal design and technical capability to support both live projects on site and future international locations.

This is a new role within the company structure, created to strengthen the technical and architectural delivery of interior architecture across the brand. The position will sit between design intent and execution, working closely with appointed consultant teams to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standard of quality, efficiency, and functionality.

The role is technical and coordination-led, rather than production or design heavy. While there may be scope for production involvement in the future, the current focus is on technical oversight, design coordination, and delivery excellence.

This position requires an architect or interior designer with proven technical experience delivering hospitality-led environments, including hotels, private members’ clubs, F&B venues, and leisure spaces. A strong understanding of the relationship between design and functionality is essential, particularly the integration of front-of-house and back-of-house operations to support a luxury guest experience. You will be responsible for coordinating consultant teams and guiding design decisions to ensure outcomes are not only design-led but also operationally efficient, buildable, and aligned with brand standards.

Global travel is an integral part of the position and will be planned in advance. The role will suit individuals who are comfortable with international travel within structured timeframes. This is a hybrid working opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the architectural and interior design delivery of high-end hospitality projects across all RIBA stages, from early concept through to construction and handover
  • Guide projects through feasibility, design development, technical coordination, and on-site execution, ensuring alignment with programme, budget, and design intent
  • Oversee interior design packages, including FF&E, bespoke joinery, material selection
  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams to achieve fully integrated design solutions
  • Review and oversee drawing packages, specifications, and technical documentation in collaboration with BIM, technical, and project management teams
  • Work closely with internal leadership and development teams to maintain consistent quality, standards, and brand alignment
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and midweight team members, supporting design reviews and workload planning
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings, consultant workshops, and site visits as required
  • Support a collaborative, high-performing studio culture while operating confidently within a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree as a Part II, III, or Interior Architecture
  • Strong experience delivering commercial and hospitality-led projects
  • Demonstrable experience working across multiple RIBA stages, including technical design and construction phases
  • Proven background in technically complex interior and architectural delivery, ideally within luxury hospitality environments
  • Understanding in AutoCAD alongside Adobe Creative Suite and relevant 3D software
  • Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, construction methodologies, and consultant coordination
  • Experience of bespoke detailing, and high-quality design-led outcomes
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable taking ownership of projects and working autonomously within a structured team environment
  • Previous experience mentoring junior team members or contributing to team leadership is advantageous
