Our client is an exciting payments technology start-up, based in London, who have recently secured some exceptional VC backing & are keen to scale the team. We are keen to hire an exceptional Head of Sales to join and play a pivotal role in driving the business forward by building a fantastic sales strategy, recruiting and leading a sales team, onboarding new customers & partners across the SMB sector and developing relationships with our new customers as we grow. This is a fast paced, start-up environment so you must be comfortable with being hands-on, pragmatic and excited by taking an influential role in a high-potential business.

Key responsibilities
  • Create, build and roll out a sales strategy which achieves our agreed goals.
  • Build and maintain fantastic relationships with both new & existing key clients.
  • Hire & build a high performing sales team (both SDR & Field), demonstrating your ability to lead, inspire, motivate, train & develop the best people.
  • Using your industry & product knowledge of card acquiring, ISO's, payment terminals and associated products, you will identify & close new business opportunities, managing your sales pipeline effectively.
  • You will review sales & performance data to ensure you are on top of your own & your teams numbers, sharing best practice & communicating effectively with the rest of the leadership team.
About you
  • You are likely to have experience of sales leadership & new business development, gained from within an acquirer or ISO (or related business), and have a depth of knowledge around the payments industry landscape, fin-tech, compliance, risk, onboarding and merchant services.
  • Analytical, with the ability to review & act on data -being both adaptable & able to pivot will be key.
  • You are likely to be hugely excited by working in a high potential start-up environment, where you will have a real impact & influence on the overall success of the SMB Sales division, and able to roll with the ambiguity that comes with it - previous exposure to a start-up/scale-up will be beneficial.
  • Keen to remain hands-on in sales while being able to nurture a high performing team, ambitious to scale the business at pace.

In return for your skills, experience, dedication & commitment, we can offer you an excellent base salary, on target bonus/commission plan for hitting mutually agreed targets, pension, health insurance and - probably most exciting of all - equity in the business so you truly are an integral member of our efforts!
