Tenex Search is a specialist executive search firm working with the world’s leading law firms on their most strategic hires – from office openings and team moves to key lateral partner appointments. Our work sits at the intersection of market intelligence, strategy and high‑end search.

We’re growing across the UK and US and are looking for a Head of Research / Analyst to build and own our research function.

The Role

You’ll sit at the heart of how we think about markets, opportunities and strategy. Your work will directly shape how partners and law firm leaders think about moves, offices and growth.

Key responsibilities :
  • Market & firm research
  • Map markets, practice areas and key players across the UK, Europe and the US
  • Track partner movements, office launches and strategic trends in elite law firms
  • Data, insight & analysis
  • Build and maintain structured datasets on firms, teams, deals and individuals
  • Turn raw research into clear insights, narratives and recommendations
  • Content & briefing materials
  • Create high‑quality candidate and client briefing documents
  • Prepare decks, overviews and one‑pagers that help partners understand markets and opportunities
  • Support the senior team with materials for pitches and strategy discussions
  • Collaboration with the senior team
  • Work closely with the partners
  • Help identify new opportunities, markets and targets as we scale in the UK and US
Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who loves turning information into clarity.

You might have experience in :
  • Research, analytics, consulting, market intelligence, executive search or a related field
  • The legal sector, professional services or another complex B2B environment (nice to have, not essential)
You’ll likely bring :
  • Strong research skills – you know how to find, structure and validate information
  • Excellent written communication – you can turn complexity into concise, compelling documents
  • High attention to detail and a natural sense of “what matters” commercially
  • Curiosity about how markets work, how firms grow, and how strategic hiring decisions get made
  • A proactive, ownership mindset – you like being responsible for a critical part of the business
