A leading aerospace firm in the UK seeks a Head of Regulatory Compliance and Business Systems to lead Quality Compliance and work with engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Manufacturing, experience in dealing with regulatory authorities, and knowledge of aerospace regulations. Qualifications

  • Degree level or equivalent experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing related discipline.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory authorities and with quality and production.
  • Preferred AS9100 Lead Assessor and EASA Part 21/145 auditor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Compliance Team and manage Quality Auditors.
  • Interact with customers and regulatory bodies on quality issues.
  • Lead BMS system projects from Safran Group.

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

The purpose of the role is to provide technical support, work package collaboration, and project management across a range of Engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leader of the Quality Compliance Team
  • Responsible for leading a team of Quality Auditors
  • Interacts cross-functionally and cross-BU and presents to the Exec Team as required on all Quality Management System Issues. In addition, has regular (weekly) contact with customers and regulatory bodies on quality issues.
  • Leadership of BMS system projects from Safran Group
  • Focal for Safety Management System (SMS) requirements

Job Requirements

Degree level or equivalent experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing related discipline.

  • Lean / 6 Sigma knowledge and general improvement tools
  • In‑depth knowledge of Aerospace Regulations e.g. EASA, FAA, AS9100
  • 8D analysis and report writing
  • Risk Analysis
  • Preferred AS9100 Lead Assessor, EASA Part 21/145, FAA 145 auditor
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory authorities
  • Quality and production experience
  • Competent in MS packages
  • Problem solving skills (including 8D, 5 whys)
  • Leadership and / or management qualification
