SF Recruitment have partnered with an exciting, high growth organisation in Birmingham City Centre who are looking to recruit a Head of Quality of Products. They are in the tech manufacturing space and are looking for somebody who is experienced in this, who can grow and develop in this role.

Salary: £75,000-£85,000
Working pattern: hybrid 3 days a week on site, with quarterly travel so China

The Vice President of Quality of Products will be responsible for defining, leading, and executing the company's global product quality strategy. This role ensures that all products meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction, while aligning with regulatory requirements and business objectives. This role is critical to ensuring that the company's products consistently exceed customer expectations, strengthen brand reputation, and drive sustainable business growth.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of quality management, compliance, and process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive product quality vision and roadmap across all product lines.
  • Process improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current practices, implement best practices for testing and quality assurance, and refine testing processes and standards
  • Creating and enforcing quality standards, and reporting on risk and system stability to senior leadership
  • Quality control: Oversee procedures for testing methods, materials, and products to maintain high standards across the organization.
  • Risk management: Assess potential risks associated with product quality and releases, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to embed quality into every stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Customer focus: Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and reduce product defects, recalls, or complaints.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to UK, EU, and international product quality and safety standards.
  • Team leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing quality management team across multiple geographies and communicate quality goals and status to senior management.
  • Performance monitoring: Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track and improve product quality outcomes, analyse quality metrics, and report on findings to stakeholders.
  • Resource management: Manage the QA budget and allocate resources effectively to meet project demands
Experience
  • Experience: Several years of experience in quality assurance, often with previous management experience, is necessary.
  • Industry knowledge: Strong background in manufacturing, engineering, consumer goods, or technology sectors.
  • Leadership skills: Proven ability to lead global teams, influence stakeholders, and drive cultural change.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is typically required.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency with quality system requirements, testing equipment, and relevant software like project management and analytics tools.
  • Soft skills: Strong leadership, strategic planning, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and team management skills are crucial.
  • Mobile industry experience: would be advantageous but won't be a deciding factor
