Job description

The DCMS Commercial directorate is a dynamic team with a positive and friendly culture. We prioritise kindness and respect, and we work closely together as a team to embrace change and drive continuous improvement. DCMS Commercial is unique - we deliver the classic portfolio of Government commercial services such as procurement, contract management and supplier engagement, as well as providing the department with a niche set of services such as negotiating with foreign investors, mergers and acquisitions, policy development and income generation. We act as strategic delivery partners to the department, and our work secures good value for the taxpayer, drives growth and ensures DCMS remains productive and agile. Our size means we're flexible - we all lean-in to support the priorities of the day at the same time as maintaining a brilliant core service to our customers. We place great emphasis on engaging positively with our colleagues and stakeholders, which we believe creates a great working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the CCO and Commercial SCS are well-briefed for meetings, external engagements and other appearances, and that minutes and decisions are suitably recorded and actioned.
  • Support the CCO to ensure DCMS commercial activity complies with latest procurement policies and drives Government missions.
  • Manage, monitor and implement commercial policy across DCMS.
  • Enable the CCO to lead effectively by maintaining strategic oversight of commercial budgets and resources.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the Commercial directorate, ensuring that the team has the skills, experience and resilience to deliver DCMS priorities.
  • Ensure DCMS Commercial engages effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the CCO and lead on maintaining a positive, supportive and friendly working environment so that DCMS Commercial continues to be a great place to work.
