Overview
The role will take ownership of the aircraft (AC) fleet under the control of Windracers (including Windracers owned / operated fleet and customer AC in post manufacture commissioning) and provide an MMRO capability to customer owned aircraft worldwide. The mission: to support modifications and work required by service bulletins, conduct all scheduled maintenance, conduct ground handling / support activity, and manage repairs / rectification and in-service development requirements while ensuring the fleet is serviceable to fulfil the operational flying programme.
Responsibilities
- Supported by your Availability Manager, maintain a detailed understanding of the flying programme and the configuration / serviceability of the fleet (AC and Ground Support).
- Supported by the Availability Manager, develop a programme of scheduled MMRO support to customers globally.
- Lead the Availability Manager in delivering an MMRO support programme, including a reserve for unscheduled repair, rectification and in-service development to fulfil the global AC and support fleet operational availability requirements.
- Based on the MMRO support programme, lead your team to deliver all MMRO activity required to fulfil the global AC and support fleet operational availability requirements. Objectively target subordinate Crew Chiefs with clear lead times for delivery.
- Lead your Ground Support and Spares Team to plan for and resource the MMRO teams with tools, ground equipment and spares required to fulfil the mission.
- Based on the MMRO support programme, lead the business to resource your own team with justified human, equipment, infrastructure and spare parts requirements.
- Supported by your Modification and Maintenance Project Manager, collaborate with Engineering to fulfil in-service on AC development schemes.
- Lead the MMRO & A Teams to work safely. Continuously evaluate team performance against targets.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by working with Engineering and Manufacturing functions (Procurement, Quality) to develop MMRO practices that are appropriate for the business and scalable.
- Ensure the introduction of new products is managed appropriately, considering wider business objectives and relevant risk management.
- Work with Engineering, Quality, and Procurement to drive cost reduction, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the MMRO capability.
- Prepare and present production reports, KPIs, and personnel requirement forecasts to senior management to track performance and value delivery.
- Work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

- Act as subject matter expert in support of the Head of Manufacturing/Manager - Quality function, including triage of quality related concerns from MMRO&A.

Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Previous experience in leading teams within MMRO context (aerospace or relevant industry) (5+ years).
- Demonstrable experience within the MMRO domain (3+ years).
- Working knowledge of common aerospace production practices and standards compliance (e.g. AC 43).
- Previous experience in creating and updating production procedures for AC MMRO including the generation or overseeing of work cards and SOPs.
- Working knowledge of ACEngineering Design approaches applicable to light aircraft.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong computer literacy and experience working with Microsoft Office 365 products.
- Familiar with project / progress management software users (e.g. ERP tools).
- Right to work within the UK.
- BPSS vetting minimum and SC clearance as required by role, location or client.
Desirable
- Aerospace production and testing validation background.
- Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) operational knowledge.
- Previous experience with Atlassian (Jira).
- Previous experience with MRP systems (Odoo).
- Practical hands-on skills in fabrication, welding, metalworking, CNC / Turning, general mechanical / electronics assembly, engine build/re-build, and building of production jigs.
