Head of Marketing (first marketing hire)
London (min 2 days in office) | Full-time
Ready to join a small, high‑calibre team and build the marketing engine that turns AI ambition into adoption?
At PAIR, you’ll be our first marketing hire: owning the full stack from strategy to execution. You’ll build the foundations, ship campaigns yourself, and create momentum across enterprise and a new product‑led growth motion. You’ll work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Sales, Product and our AI Adoption Specialists to shape how the market understands us, how prospects convert, and how customers expand.
This role is for someone hungry, hands‑on, and excited by blank‑page ownership. You write the copy, build the sequences, run the experiments, and tell us what works - with numbers, not vibes. If things go well, you'll get to build your team and scale our impact even further.
I look forward to reading your application.
James
CEO / co‑founder
Core responsibilities
You’ll report directly to the CEO/co‑founder and own marketing end‑to‑end across positioning, demand, lifecycle and growth — from first principles to repeatable execution.
What owning marketing end‑to‑end looks like:
- Build and run a clear marketing plan that supports enterprise pipeline now and PLS (Product‑led sales) in Q2
- Define and sharpen PAIR’s positioning, narrative and messaging with our Creative Lead and BD Director
- Create and prioritise a content and campaign roadmap across: LinkedIn, email, web, webinars/events, partner channels
- Launch and optimise lifecycle marketing: nurture sequences, onboarding journeys, re‑activation, expansion campaigns
- Operate a high‑quality LinkedIn motion aimed at enterprise buyers: thought leadership, proof, case studies, and targeted campaigns
- Partner tightly with Sales to measurably improve conversion across the funnel: ICP, messaging, assets, objection handling materials, enablement
- Work with Product to design and execute the first iteration of our PLS motion:
- activation and onboarding experiments
- conversion pathways from self‑serve → sales‑assisted where appropriate
- pricing/packaging and landing page testing (where relevant)
- Build the marketing “operating system”: analytics, reporting cadence, attribution basics, CRM/marketing automation hygiene
- Maintain high execution velocity: weekly shipping rhythm, clear hypotheses, tight post‑mortems
- Over time: hire and manage specialist support (e.g. growth marketer, content, design) as we scale
What we are looking for
We’re a driven, ambitious start‑up building an exceptional team. You’ll learn by doing alongside customers and colleagues from week one. We give you high trust and clear outcomes; you bring professionalism, ownership and pace.
Non‑negotiables
- Hands‑on operator: you’ve personally built and shipped campaigns recently; you don’t need a team or agency to get things live
- Commercial & outcomes‑led: you care about pipeline, activation and qualified leads — and you can talk in numbers
- Structured: you run a tight plan, keep systems clean, and turn ambiguity into priorities without heavy hand‑holding
- Clear communicator: strong writing and crisp thinking; you can explain what you’re doing, why, and what it changed
- Good judgement: you handle data privacy, brand risk, and enterprise expectations responsibly
- AI‑native:You actively use AI in your day‑to‑day marketing workflow to improve speed and quality, and you can point to specific examples where this materially changed your output or results
Must have experience & skills
- Evidenced results in B2B SaaS / tech marketing, with evidence of owning meaningful scope (ideally as a small‑team or first‑hire marketer)
- Strong grasp of both enterprise marketing (multi‑stakeholder buying) and growth fundamentals (funnels, experiments, lifecycle)
- Proven ability to build and run:
- LinkedIn and content motions that create demand and credibility
- email and nurture programmes that move prospects through the funnel
- landing page and conversion experiments
- Solid analytical comfort: you can work with marketing + product metrics (activation, retention, CAC signals, funnel conversion)
- Experience with core tooling (you will be building elements of our core marketing stack): CRM + email automation, analytics, basic reporting/dashboarding
Nice to have
- Direct experience and success implementing PLG or PLS
- Exposure to workforce transformation, enablement, L&D, change management, government, or regulated sectors
- Strong founder‑enablement skills: you can turn raw thinking into polished narrative and content quickly
How we work
We work hard, support each other, and share a bias for action - which sometimes includes late finishes when something important is shipping or a customer needs us. We balance this with ownership, trust and the opportunity to build something incredible.
