Job description

A well-established, growing organisation is seeking a Head of Financial Reporting to join its finance leadership team in Derby.

This is a replacement role , reporting directly to the Finance Director, offering a blend of technical financial reporting responsibility and people leadership within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The Role

As Head of Financial Reporting, you will take ownership of all internal and external financial reporting, lead the statutory accounts and audit process, and oversee debt compliance activities. You will manage a capable financial accounts team while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead statutory accounts preparation and external audit process
  • Maintain strong working relationships with external auditors
  • Manage debt compliance and covenant reporting
  • Support the Finance Director with wider finance activities
  • Line manage and develop the financial accounts team (3 direct reports)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure reporting meets all requirements
About You
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong financial reporting experience within a large corporate environment
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting
  • Proven experience managing audits and engaging with external auditors
  • Confident people manager balancing leadership and hands‑on delivery
Desirable :
  • Experience in asset‑heavy or complex corporate environments
  • Exposure to debt compliance and covenant reporting
  • Experience working with tax advisers
