Role: Head Of Finance

Location: Leeds, LS15 8GB (with hybrid working after completion of training)

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum, DOE, plus extensive benefits

Contract type: Permanent

Employment type: Full time

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities
  • Lead the finance department, overseeing financial operations, accounting processes, and the finance team
  • Manage the preparation of all financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, budget variance analysis, and year-end financial reports
  • Manage group cashflows providing cashflow reporting and forecasting, develop a reliable cashflow projection process, and reporting mechanism. Work with key stakeholders in the business to control and manage working capital impacts on cashflow
  • Overseeing the payroll function with responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of all staff salaries, benefits, and deductions, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and tax regulations, such as PAYE and pension auto-enrolment. Develop and deliver payroll-related financial reports, cost analysis, and forecasts to senior management
  • Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices, including implementing stronger controls, processes and establishing documented review processes
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with financial regulations, completing annual audits in line with reporting deadlines and ensuring all other regulatory reporting is completed
  • Work with tech team to identify areas for improvement in finance systems, create and execute plan for implementing systems to support the business in current phase of growth whilst enabling future growth ambitions
  • Building working relationships throughout the group with great exposure to the CEO, CFO and Finance Director
  • Lead the financial integration of future acquisitions and partnerships
Qualifications
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA – with experience from a commercial and technical accounting background
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Experience in consolidation and acquisition accounting
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards – UK GAAP & IFRS, relevant tax legislation
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts for groups
  • “Can do” approach with tenacity and strong desire to develop personal skills and experience in a dynamic, commercial environment
  • Experience of working within company and ethical rules and regulations
  • Diligence to ensure work is completed to the highest standard; accurately and efficiently
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment, delivering against tight deadlines
  • Experience of managing a team through periods of growth and business change
