Job summary

CTS Group in London seeks a Lead Document Controller to govern multi-project document control for data centre builds in the UK/EMEA. You will lead governance, ensure accuracy, compliance, accessibility and auditable records throughout project lifecycles, and mentor a growing team of document controllers.

The role requires senior expertise in DMS platforms (Aconex/ACC/Procore/SharePoint/Asite), strong Excel skills, and effective stakeholder coordination across clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in document control within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or data centre projects.
• Experience leading document control activities on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project lifecycle documentation and information management principles.
• Experience with document management systems such as Aconex, ACC, Procore, SharePoint, Asite or equivalent.
• Excellent understanding of document numbering, revision control, transmittals, workflows and audit requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent professional-level English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage document control activities across multiple data centre construction projects.
• Develop, implement and maintain document control procedures, standards and best practices.
• Act as primary contact for all document management and information control matters.
• Mentor Document Controllers and project administration teams to ensure consistency.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance document control efficiency and data quality.
• Establish robust document control systems, workflows and version control processes.
• Manage receipt, review, distribution, tracking and archiving of project documentation (drawings, BIM, specs, RFIs, contracts, permits, testing, handover).
• Coordinate documentation flow between clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Produce and distribute reports on document status, approvals, overdue items, and KPIs.
• Ensure auditable records comply with client requirements, contractual obligations and CTS standards.
• Support project handover, commissioning and close-out with complete documentation packages.
