Job Description

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

Reports to: Deputy Chief Business Officer (CBO)

Role Overview

We are looking for a strategic, commercially minded, and highly organised leader to shape and oversee the development, execution, and governance of EUI's business strategy. This pivotal role blends growth leadership, operational excellence, and strong governance to advance EUI's transformation, regulatory, and commercial priorities. Working closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams, you will drive growth opportunities, ensure robust risk and compliance management, and enable the CBO function to achieve its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Execution – Define and deliver the CBO strategy, translating high‑level objectives into actionable initiatives across product, commercial, and transformation workstreams. Maintain a strategic roadmap and ensure timely achievement of key milestones.
  • Growth & Innovation – Partner with the Head of Growth to identify and deliver new opportunities, focusing on digital assets, data products, issuer services, and market expansion. Build strong business cases and champion product innovation aligned with client and market needs.
  • Governance & Reporting – Lead governance processes, including board and committee reporting, regulatory submissions, and risk registers. Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with internal and external expectations.
  • Risk & Compliance Management – Act as the primary liaison for risk and compliance within the CBO function. Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks across initiatives, ensuring adherence to internal frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Drive alignment across internal teams (Product, Commercial, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Technology) and external partners. Represent EUI in market and board‑level forums, promoting the CSD's evolving role in the UK ecosystem.
  • Process & Operational Excellence – Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and strategic delivery. Oversee the creation and maintenance of dashboards, KPIs, and product books to support decision‑making and transparency.
  • Leadership – Support the CBO and senior leadership in coordinating activities and delivering commercial goals.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5‑10 years' experience in UK financial markets, post‑trade, or securities servicing, with experience in strategy, product management, or business operations.
  • Clear commercial acumen and experience driving growth through product or business innovation.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and present confidently to boards and external audiences.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear strategies.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and openness to new approaches.
  • Experience with regulatory and transformation agendas, including digitisation and post‑trade infrastructure, is an advantage.
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills, with the ability to convey information effectively to diverse audiences.
