Job summary

A health service provider in Lancashire is seeking an ENT surgeon to deliver outpatient services while performing surgical procedures in a clinical environment. The ideal candidate must hold full GMC registration and have experience in the NHS with a specific interest in Head & Neck. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and oversee various medical duties including emergency on-call services. Overview

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute, community and specialist tertiary care to a population of 1.6 million residents and 12 million holidaymakers each year. The Trust comprises Blackpool Victoria Hospital and Clifton Hospital, with outpatient services in Blackpool, Fleetwood and Lytham. Responsibilities
  • Deliver face‑to‑face outpatient service in Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
  • Perform benign head and neck and diagnostic surgical procedures.
  • Support the weekly Neck Lump Clinic, Fast‑Track patient sessions and Radiology coordination.
  • Supervise and manage complications arising from routine ENT and Head & Neck procedures.
  • Attend Head & Neck and Thyroid MDT meetings.
  • Carry out clinical and educational duties under the direction of the educational lead.
  • Provide emergency on‑call service (current rota 1:5, including weekends).
Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration or equivalent (CESR, European Community Rights) confirmed by the AAC date.
  • Entry or membership of the GMC Specialist Register (or equivalent).
  • Higher surgical qualification (FRCS or equivalent).
  • NHS experience with broad ENT clinical exposure and a sub‑speciality interest in Head & Neck.
Additional Information

Where a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required, the applicant will be responsible for the associated cost, which may be deducted from salary or paid in one off or instalment payments. DBS update service is available for an annual fee of £16, and DBS checks remain free for volunteer positions. Applicants may be required to reimburse the DBS cost if they withdraw their application.
