Job Introduction

Sodexo is seeking a Hard FM Lead Engineer to join our Hard FM team, supporting the day-to-day delivery of technical services across a regional cluster of client sites. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant building operations, while delivering excellent service to clients and end users.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining building services systems and ensuring smooth operation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure. This includes planned and reactive maintenance, liaising with contractors and suppliers, and using our digital platforms for service delivery tracking and compliance.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Manage the site team and contractors to carry out maintenance and repairs on systems including: heating boilers, pumps, compressed air, sanitary ware, lighting, BMS, distribution boards, and control panels.
  • Ensure deliver of statutory, legislative, and mandatory electrical tasks to schedule.
  • Support and drive fault diagnosis and implement repairs within technical capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate records using Global Maximo and support QSE/compliance audits.
  • Work with subcontractors to complete inspections and remedial works.
  • Provide real-time workflow updates via Digi Hub.
  • Ensure tasks are completed to quality and compliance standards.
  • Participate in out-of-hours and weekend/on-call rota as required.
  • Support small projects, billable works, and emergency responses.
  • Work within Sodexo’s Technical Services Framework and Zero Harm safety culture.
  • Liaise with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Authorising Engineers (AEs), and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring:

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification site experience
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards and compliance requirements
  • Working knowledge of safe systems of work and risk assessments
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Fit and active with a sound health record
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAFM/CMMS systems

Desirable:

  • Experience with EZMax/Maximo
  • Previous AP/CP status (e.g. Electrical, Confined Spaces, Working at Heights)
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations
  • Multi-trade/property maintenance experience
  • Experience managing or working with subcontractors
