Job summary

Actian in the United Kingdom seeks a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team of 3–4 engineers. You will be a builder who writes code, designs robust backend systems, and leads by example to ship high-value features.

You’ll own the technical execution of the team in a modern SaaS stack (Scala, Python, TypeScript) and actively leverage AI coding agents to multiply output without compromising quality. This role offers remote or hybrid working arrangements and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Deep backend experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Production-proven Scala experience; Python/TypeScript a plus.
• Proficient with AI coding agents and prompt engineering.
• Builder mindset with focus on product-driven delivery.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding and execution on complex backend challenges.
• Guide technical direction using Scala, Python and TypeScript.
• Promote AI coding agents to boost team velocity.
• Align technical work with product goals and multi-tenant SaaS.
• Mentor 3–4 engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Ensure production health, security, and cloud scalability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine features.
• Own end-to-end delivery of features.
