Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on machinery design projects from concept through to production. You will be hands-on on the shop floor and with customers, balancing multiple projects and collaborating with the team on production, testing and delivery.

The role requires experience in mechanical design, SolidWorks proficiency, and a background in DFMA, GD&T and materials selection. Bedford-based with commutable options and a supportive engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience on design projects from cradle to grave.
• SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling experience.
• Experience working with production and testing (DfMA).
• Materials selection including stainless steel, aluminum and mild steel.

Responsibilities

• Detailed mechanical design of new machines from cradle to grave.
• Re-engineer existing machinery to enhance design, manufacturing efficiency, durability, cost down, GD&T and weights and balance.
• Prototype testing.
• Internal stakeholder management with production and sales.
