Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the detailed mechanical design of new machines from cradle to grave. You will also re-engineer existing machinery to improve design, efficiency, durability and cost, and conduct prototype testing on projects.

You will work closely with production and sales, including shop-floor involvement, with opportunities to expand into DFA/DFMA processes. Bedford-based role with hands-on project exposure.

Qualifications

• You’ll be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with concept-to-completion project experience.
• You will have solid experience using SolidWorks and working on DFMA.
• Experience with BOMs and materials selection (stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel).

Responsibilities

• Detailed mechanical design of new machines from cradle to grave.
• Re-engineer existing machinery to improve design, manufacturing efficiency, durability and costs.
• Prototype testing and validation.
• Internal stakeholder management with production and sales.
