A local government authority in Scotland seeks a motivated Building Surveyor to support in delivering accurate building information and technical advice within Property Services. The role includes project management and cost control of various fabric projects. Successful candidates will have a RICS accredited degree and relevant technical experience in building surveying. South Lanarkshire Council is a progressive, leading edge employer with an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to undertake the role of Building Surveyor within Property Services.
We deliver an integrated property management service based on strong links between our Building Services and technical property function therefore having the ability to interact constructively with a variety of stakeholders and partners is an essential requirement of the post.
In this role you will provide assistance in a wide range of Building Surveying activities. This will include developing, supporting and delivering accurate and consistent building information, technical advice, adaptations in housing stock, dilapidations, projects and general Building Surveyor technical advice as required.
The post will also require being able to progress all stages of the development, design, project management, cost control and delivery of fabric projects.
The successful candidate should have a good knowledge and understanding of all building surveying principles.
You must hold a relevant degree level RICS approved academic qualification in Building Surveying. South Lanarkshire Council has a strong record in developing APC candidates, and candidates are welcome from all levels of graduate to MRICS qualified. Placement on the above scale is dependent upon experience.
