Role Overview

The Group Head of Technology Professions plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering Bupas cross‑market unit (MU) workforce and talent strategy for Technology. A key element of this strategy is the development and implementation of a modern skills‑based Technology Professions model, a structured framework that defines roles, skills, career pathways and development resources across core Technology domains.

This role will lead the ongoing development, improvement and deployment of the Technology Professions model and its supporting resources working closely with regional CIO teams to tailor implementation to local needs. It will also heavily support the next phase of the workforce strategy: Technology Talent Management.

  • Design and implement career frameworks that define clear pathways for progression and development across all technology roles.
  • Lead capability‑building initiatives including professional communities, mentoring programmes and learning solutions to future‑proof skills.
  • Partner with senior leaders and HR teams to embed technology talent strategies into workforce planning and organisational design.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion within technology teams creating an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute.
  • Monitor emerging trends and technologies advising on how these impact skills requirements and shaping proactive responses.
  • Drive engagement and retention by creating compelling propositions for technology professionals ensuring Bupa is seen as an employer of choice.
