A leading global financial markets infrastructure provider in the UK seeks a Group Director for Automated Build & Deployment Systems. This senior role involves designing and implementing automated solutions to modernize application installations across a large enterprise server estate. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of engineering experience with a strong focus on automation, leading cross-functional teams, and developing scalable systems for OS-level deployments. The Group Director, Automated Build & Deployment Systems, will serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, architecting, and delivering a fully automated, scalable build and deployment mechanism to modernize application installations across a large enterprise server estate (50,000+ servers). This role requires deep technical expertise, hands‑on engineering capability, and strong leadership influence without direct people management.
The successful candidate will drive the end‑to‑end technical strategy and implementation of a next‑generation automation framework that dramatically reduces the cost of maintenance, improves fleet consistency, and accelerates delivery across diverse operating systems and application environments.
