Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain outdoor spaces to high standards within Greater London. The role is permanent, 40 hours per week, with a pay of £14.80 per hour.

The successful candidate will carry out grass cutting, hedge maintenance, leaf clearing, winter services, and report hazards. A Full UK Driving Licence is preferred for roles involving company vehicles; PA1/PA6 spraying license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required for most roles involving company vehicles.
• PAI/PA6 spraying license is a plus.
• Ability to work outdoors in flexible environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying and litter picking.
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely.
• Deliver winter services including gritting and snow clearance.
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management.
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake training as required.

Contract: Permanent

Type: Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay: £14.80 per hour

Location: Ilford, Barking, Chigwell, Buckhurst Hill, Loughton, Woodford Green, Greater London, England IG1 1AT

Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required

• Passion for working outdoors in agile and flexible environments
• Good understanding of smartphone technology
• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential
• PAI & PA6 spraying license is a plus
• Full UK driving license preferred for roles involving company vehicles
