Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to deliver high-quality outdoor space upkeep and meet SLA commitments in Ashford.

The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours weekly) with a pay rate of £13.45 per hour. A Full UK driving licence is preferred; spraying licenses are a plus, and training is provided as part of a flexible benefits program.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• PAI & PA6 spraying license is a plus.
• Experience in outdoors/grounds maintenance is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking.
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely.
• Deliver winter services including gritting and snow clearance.
• Report site hazards and information to management.
• Follow health and safety procedures and training.

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required

• Passion for working outdoors in agile and flexible environments
• Good understanding of smartphone technology
• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential
• PAI & PA6 spraying license is a plus
• Full UK driving license preferred for roles involving company vehicles
