Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain outdoor spaces to high standards across the Bedfordshire region, including Luton and Milton Keynes.

This permanent, full-time role offers 40 hours per week and a pay rate of £13.45 per hour, with a driving licence required for roles involving company vehicles. You will perform grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance and winter services while ensuring health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Passion for working outdoors in agile and flexible environments.
• Good understanding of smartphone technology.
• Grounds maintenance experience desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence required for roles involving company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking.
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively.
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation.
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management.
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required.

We're looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and maintaining outdoor spaces to the highest quality.
