A local government authority in Walsall is offering a Graduate / Trainee Environmental Health Practitioner position. This role provides invaluable experience in housing standards and is designed for graduates eager to contribute and grow. Graduate / Trainee Environmental Health Practitioners (Housing) - Ref : CH08025
Salary: National Living Wage currently 12.21 per hour (equivalent to £23,792 over 21s)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Term: 2 fixed term positions for up to 24 months
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Housing Standards team for 2 graduates who wish to gain experience and contribute to the team by undertaking duties in housing and other relevant work areas. The post holders will have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of learning and practical experience. This is intended to assist the successful applicants in meeting the housing (and possibly all of the) elements of their portfolio to become fully qualified Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) with the CIEH.
About the team
The team deals with all aspects of Private Sector Housing including minimum standards in rented accommodation and Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) licensing.
We will pay the professional qualification fees for the CIEH - subject to conditions.
We will pay the CIEH annual membership fees applicable.

This post is based primarily on working (and travelling to visits) from home although there will be a need to work from the office at times.
This post is covered by the Governments Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector postholder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and / or information in accurate spoken English.
