Graduate teaching assistant | Wigan area | From £89 per day | Full-time and Part-time availability

Axcis are a special educational needs agency who work across the country to provide short and long-term positions within a range of educational settings. These posts can be both full-time and part-time, as well as day-to-day cover. We provide competitive daily rates starting from £89 per day and strive to have you processed quickly and placed out to work as soon as possible. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and compassionate graduates who would love to use any transferable skills and work as teaching assistants in the Wigan area. We have many schools that are eager to recruit graduates, including but not limited to: social care, English literature, psychology, education etc. Individuals who would be interested in working in the education sector as teaching assistants and who would show initiative and have a positive attitude when supporting those with special educational needs would be considered. These educational settings include: Mainstream schools, Pupil referral units, Alternative provision, Primary and secondary schools.

What we need from you:
  • At least 6 months personal or professional experience supporting adults or children with special educational needs (Overseas applicants must have 3 months experience in the UK) or a certified qualification in a relevant area—education, psychology, drama etc.
  • A graduate teaching assistant with a patient, compassionate and positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work in school hours—contracts are usually 8:30 am until 3‑4:30 pm depending on the school.
  • Ability to reliably commute to settings either by driving or public transport.
