Qualifications

  • Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience managing difficult and sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with informed patient consent.
  • Provide counselling, advice, and support as necessary.

Working in partnership with the NHS, Blatchford provides the orthotic service across Lancashire and Morcombe Bay.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Orthotist to support our clinics across the region. Your key focus will be on our clinics in Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness.

This is a highly varied role where you will treat a wide range of patients and work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will also gain exposure to Prosthetic patients.

The role:

As a Graduate Orthotist you will use your clinical skill and experience to contribute to the delivery of a first class Orthotic Clinical Service.

We are seeking a GraduateOrthotistwith broad-based experience who is looking for an opportunity to develop and contribute.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting a caseload of clients with a wide range of complex conditions and recommending the best course of intervention.
  • Effectively communicating with informed patient consent, discussing the reasons for the prescription.
  • Providing counselling , advice, and support as necessary to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.
  • Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, supplying, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses as required.
  • Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records.
  • Providing training in the field of Orthotics at all levels

Essential skills and experience
  • Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics
  • HCPC registration
  • Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable)
  • Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear.
  • Able to prioritise and manage workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels.
