About The Role

Role Summary: The postholder will collaborate with the Senior Mechanical Engineer, Design Manager, CAD/BIM and other engineering disciplines to support the MEICA design and project teams to enhance Coffey Water’s project delivery with a focus on MECIA detailing and selections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of preliminary and detailed design of water / wastewater treatment plants based on data provided; to meet contract requirements.
  • Contribute to the design of mechanical components for Water and Wastewater delivery, collection networks, and associated plants for treatment. Including pumps, pumping stations, filters, filtration systems, hydraulic design and the selection of appropriate valve/pipe.
  • Build relationships with supply chain partners (Products/Services) and customers.
  • Application of appropriate software to provide advice, solutions and successful outcomes with a focus on achieving project objectives.
  • Adopt relevant standards in design to streamline engineering tasks and be efficient
  • Developing drawings of equipment and plant layouts as required.
  • Supporting the development of PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), P&IDs (Process & instrumentation Drawings) and equipment schedules.
  • Support the development of hydraulic, energy, and mechanical calculations as part of the detailed design.
  • Ensure Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully respected and taken account of.
  • Understand Specifications, Drawings and other Contract Documents.
  • Oversee the delivery of projects, through tracking, commercial reporting, progress updates and programme management.
  • Support testing of (FAT and SAT) of package plant, inspection and assessment of Mechanical installations on site.
  • Develop commissioning documents and project specific records under guidance
  • Support pricing of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA) equipment
  • Undertake project administrative duties to meet contract obligations (daily and weekly submissions of project allocations, plant, labour and materials)
About You
Essential Criteria
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Effective time management and communication skills.
  • A knowledge of Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Strong communication skills to build relationships and explain technical drawings
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of Project Management principles
  • Report writing
