A global engineering company is offering a 2-year Graduate Development Programme in Long Eaton, England for aspiring Electrical Systems Engineers. This role includes rotations across departments, contributing to modernisation projects and developing designs for train systems. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of a 2:1 in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and a team-oriented attitude. Follow the structured 2-year Graduate Development Programme, targeting IET competencies with the aim to achieve Chartered or Incorporated status as an Electrical Systems Engineer. Graduates will undertake placements in various departments in order to get a good understanding of the wider business and operations, helping to develop personal reputation as well as providing a rewarding work experience. The placements are developed with the Graduate Engineer, the line manager and the mentor. After completing the scheme, we will look to move you into a first appointment role based on staged development starting with management of individual tasks and developing into management of work packages and even small projects. This ensures that the responsibilities of the Graduate Engineer continue to increase, supporting further development of competencies.
You will have the opportunity to complete on-the-job learning, which is complemented by a modular personal development programme. Supported by a mentor, you will be able to work towards gaining a relevant professional qualification. Regular travelling required to various UK sites (including depots and supplier locations).
