Job summary

Advance Training & Recruitment Services is seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy in London. This role involves supporting major infrastructure projects, including HS2, and requires specialized skills in geotechnical design and FEA software. Candidates must possess the appropriate qualifications and be eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications

  • Prior Geotechnical experience from consultancy on major projects.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership.
  • Experience with foundations, basements, and ground improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support major geotechnical design schemes for HS2 and other infrastructure.
  • Conduct designs on earthworks, retaining structures, and slope stability.
  • Utilize FEA software for project modeling and analysis.

Job Description.

Advance TRS are working in partnership with a leading engineering consultancy renowned for delivering some of the UK’s most high-profile and complex projects. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to recruit a geotechnical design engineer to support major schemes including HS2, and other exciting infrastructure developments.

This is a great opportunity to join an established team with a strong mix of experience, within one of the country’s top consultancies.

Required experience.

– Degree qualified in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, with ideally with a masters too

– Prior Geotechnical experience gained whilst working for another consultancy on major projects

– Either chartered or working towards chartership

– Experience of Geotechnical design (earthworks, soil, and rock slope, retaining structures, foundations, excavations, basements and ground improvement)

– Experience in using several different Geotechnical and FEA software (WALLAP, SlopeW & Plaxis etc)

– 3D soil interaction and tunnelling experience
