BMT is looking for Graduates to join our Mission & Complex Systems engineering team as a Graduate Complex Systems Engineer.

  • Do you like the sound of working with a diverse, collaborative Mission & Complex Systems team to help support the creation, realisation, and transition into service of new Mission & Complex Systems and Defence platforms?
  • Do you want to work alongside the UK's Armed Forces to deliver and support cutting edge Mission and Complex System technologies?

If so, this role may be for you. The Mission and Complex Systems team work on many Defence focused projects covering engineering topics such as weapons systems, sensors, communications, information systems, autonomy, command and control, platform and navigation systems, trials and integration, verification and validation, data collection and analysis. Many of our projects are in the Maritime Domain, working with Mission and Complex Systems onboard Royal Navy warships, submarines and auxiliary vessels. We regularly work alongside other teams within BMT on projects such as Whole Ship Design, with responsibility for specifying the Mission and Complex systems and integrating them into the wider ship design process.

Working as a Complex Systems Engineer in this engineering consultancy focused role will provide the opportunity to be involved in a variety of work and projects. You will have the ability to influence your training and project experience to forge a career path in which you find great personal and professional satisfaction. You will be working directly with customers including the Royal Navy, Defence Equipment and Support and the Submarine Delivery Agency. As a graduate, you will be enrolled on our 2‑year Global Graduate and Apprenticeship Programme. You will receive technical and business training and will be employed on a varied range of Mission and Complex Systems projects, building your skills and knowledge alongside our experienced engineers and consultants, who are also keen to support you on your journey towards Chartered status and other professional qualifications.

This role will require Security Clearance. To be eligible you must be a British-born sole national and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
