Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills for client and team interaction.
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed civil engineering designs and calculations.
  • Produce technical and commercial specifications, drawings, and schedules.
  • Work collaboratively with construction teams throughout the design stages.
  • Prepare designer risk assessments and health & safety risk assessments.
  • Engage with clients, managing relationships with a One-Team approach.

Job description

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley, operating across water, energy and environment sectors throughout the UK.

The role will provide you with opportunities to train, grow and progress in a direction that suits your own particular skillset and interests. You will work on a variation of live projects, within a large multidisciplinary design team, and with support from both the design and site teams, you will offer positive impact on the community.

You will be automatically enrolled into our bespoke Early Careers Development Programme; a 12-month scheme designed to enhance your skills, expand your network, and enrich your experience.

What you'll do
  • Prepare detailed civil engineering designs and calculations
  • Produce technical and commercial specifications, drawings and schedules
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the construction team to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout the design stages, into construction and beyond
  • Prepare designer risk assessments, health & safety risk assessments, and associated documents and reports.
  • Positively engage and collaborate with the Client, managing relationships and adopting a One-Team approach
What you'll need
  • Graduated or due to graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering (BEng) or a post graduate qualification (MSc)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail, and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing
  • Considered approach to problem solving
